Hi Sky,

California has always been the land of entrepreneurs and early adopters. Millions of pioneers came West to find gold, and Hollywood has attracted millions more seeking stardom. California saw the Hippie movement in the '60s and Silicon Valley in the '80s and it's home to more than its share of company headquarters. As for why this is so, it's probably something as simple as the weather. Everyone wants to move here (including immigrants) but only those with a bit of the pioneer in them do so and so we have a disproportionate number of free spirits in the Golden State. They start businesses and their children are more likely to do so as well.

So it's not just network marketing, it's all kinds of businesses.

Of course it may simply be that we're smarter and better looking.
